Vision, Mission and Beliefs

VISION

The Catholic schools of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux, in conjunction with the Office of Catholic Schools, strive to be faith-centered communities which integrate thinking and believing, encourage intellectual growth, and nurture a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that inspires action. A diverse cultural and economic population is welcomed and supported.


MISSION
The Catholic schools of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux, a teaching ministry of the Catholic Church, provide quality academic education and spiritual formation for students which develop communities of faith in an environment that is safe, disciplined, caring, and affirm the dignity of all persons.

Belief Statements

The Catholic schools of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux believe the following:

• Catholic schools are an education ministry of the church.
• Catholic schools are faith-centered communities which promote Gospel values leading students, faculty, and staff in spiritual growth through service.
• Catholicity is evidenced through communal worship and prayer fostering a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Dedicated faculty and staff, who view their positions as a ministry, serve as role-models for the students.
• Discipline and respect are grounded in the truth that we are made in the image and likeness of God.
• An academically challenging curriculum interwoven with opportunities to grow spiritually, socially, and physically develop well-rounded students prepared for the future.
• Setting high expectations encourages students to reach their potential.
• Instilling in students self-discipline and prudent decision-making assist in creating a safe and respectful school environment.
• Faculty and staff are committed to continuous spiritual and professional growth.
• Administrators, faculty, staff, and students treat each other with dignity, respect, compassion, care, and understanding.
