Catholic Social Services assists 2000
people with economic stimulus forms:

The Internal Revenue Service sent notices
informing more than 130 million households
that they may be eligible for an economic
stimulus payment. The letters are part of an
extensive outreach effort to alert people that
they must file a 2007 tax return in
order to receive the payment.

Catholic Social Services saw the need to assist
the elderly and disabled in filling out their tax
rebate forms and have been assisting them
FREE of charge in filing out their tax rebate
forms. So far, 2000 disabled or elderly
people have been provided assistance in
completing their 2007 stimulus payment form.

LANO Standards of Excellence Certification

Catholic Social Services was one of the first organizations to be certified under the state-wide Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations (LANO)
Standards for Excellence accreditation program that began in 2004. Its programs and services, management, fundraising and financial practices were examined in depth before the certification was awarded. The program provides a model for how the most well managed and responsibly governed nonprofits operate. CSS received Standards for Excellence re-certification in 2007. The Standards for Excellence seal means that Catholic SocialServices has met the highest ethics and accountability standards for nonprofit organizations.
