Protection Prayer
Minimize

God, our Father, Creator of the Universe, You have set the earth on its foundation and all the elements of nature obey Your command. We humbly beseech You to keep us safe from all dangers and calm the storms which may threaten us. May we be secure in Your loving protection and serve You always with grateful hearts. We ask this through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Then the king will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.  For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.'  Then the righteous will answer him and say, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?  When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?  When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?'  And the king will say to them in reply, 'Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.'               (Matthew 25:34-40)

What is Matthew 25?
Minimize

Matthew 25 is the church parish disaster response program for our diocese. Catholic Social Services is assisting in bringing together the many talents and resources that church parishes demonstrated after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita to organize and integrate volunteer response teams in the event of future disasters. Together, the parish volunteer coordinators and team members are developing a more detailed plan for giving primary assistance, follow-up care to disaster victims, and disaster preparedness for their church parishioners.
